Caring for handmade jewelry

Handmade jewelry asks for a little more thought than mass-produced pieces, and rewards it by lasting far longer.

The rule that matters most: jewelry goes on last and comes off first. Perfume, hairspray and lotion are far harder on gold plating than daily wear ever is.

Store each piece in the pouch it arrived in. Contact between metals is what causes most scratching, and a soft dry cloth is all the cleaning a clay-and-resin piece will ever need.
