How a petal becomes an earring

Every INORÁ piece starts as a flat sheet of polymer clay and a set of blades. The petal is cut, thinned at the edge, curved over a shaping tool and left to hold its shape before it ever sees the oven.

Curing takes forty minutes at a low, steady heat. Too hot and the whites turn amber; too cool and the clay stays brittle. After curing, each petal is sanded through three grades of paper until the edge disappears against the light.

Only then does assembly begin — and that is the part that cannot be rushed.
